Rosa Rosae: from Watermill to Chic Restaurant

Writer's picture: Stefania GioiaStefania Gioia

Locanda Rosa Rosae, in the lush Veneto countryside, is a 6th-century watermill that has been restored by a couple of fine architects who must have worked with just one word in mind: poetry.

The shabby chic interiors, warm and cozy (especially by candlelight!), were designed with attention to the last detail. Their menu is typical, with an excellent selection of appetizers, cheeses and desserts.

Despite the wine is not the best, the place is so special that you'll instantly want to book one of their rooms. An experience that will make you travel back in time, away from the hustle and bustle, in a forgotten world. Note that, as the restaurant is open only in the week end, you should make a reservation a couple of months in advance. On the other hand, if you book the room, you'll be able to have dinner on a shorter notice.
